What’s an easy everyday bike for under Rs 4 lakh?

I am planning to buy a bike this year, and I have a budget of around Rs 4 lakh. However, I am getting confused between the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the KTM 390 Adventure. I understand both bikes are far different from each other. I am not a big traveller and I just want an easy bike that I can use every day and can be used for long rides as well.

Autocar India says: You’re right, they’re both very different sorts of machines. From an everyday perspective, both are not bad, with only a couple of things to consider. With the Interceptor, you need to be careful with the wide exhausts while on the KTM the handlebar is quite wide and both of these can be a pain if you regularly ride through jammed roads. 

If you can, we’d suggest waiting for a few months more because there are a lot of exciting motorcycles launching this year that could be just what you are looking for. These include the new Bajaj-built Triumphs, the next-gen KTM 390 Duke and possibly even the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. Another bike worth considering is the Suzuki V-Strom SX. It will come in comfortably under your budget, makes for a very easy, but quick enough road bike and it’s also more affordable to run than any of the aforementioned motorcycles.
