New Kodiaq has an evolutionary design

The new Kodiaq appears a little more rounded than the previous-gen SUV, which was characterised by a sharper design language. The split headlamp arrangement has been retained, but it gets new LED daytime running lamp signatures that even extend into the grille. The bumper gets functional air vents on either edge, and there are nice power bulges on the bonnet as well.

Wheelbase remains unchanged, but it is slightly longer

The overall length is up by 59mm.

In profile, there’s a new aero-optimised look for the 18-inch alloy wheels on the L&K trim and a contrasting finish for the D-pillar. At the rear, the Kodiaq gets new C-shaped tail-lamps connected by a light band. In terms of dimensions, the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,791mm, but the overall length has gone up by 59mm.

The Sportline trim is marked out by a blacked-out finish for the grille, wing mirrors, D-pillar garnish and rear bumper. It also gets a sportier design for the 18-inch alloys.

Gets physical controls for key functions

While the exterior still bears some resemblance to the previous Kodiaq, the interior is completely new. The dashboard has a winged design, with the highlight being a new 13-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. There are also three physical dials for the HVAC controls, a new 10-inch digital driver’s display with navigation feed and a new two-spoke steering wheel with ‘Skoda’ lettering (three-spoke on the Sportline). The second-row seats can be slid forward and backwards to adjust space, and they also have a recline function.

HVAC function are operated by three rotary dials.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq powertrain and specs

14hp bump in power

New Kodiaq does not get the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system.

Under the hood, the new Kodiaq continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that now produces 204hp and 320Nm of torque – power is up by 14hp over the previous Kodiaq, but torque remains unchanged. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox, and all-wheel drive is standard on both trims of the Kodiaq. Skoda claims an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 14.86kpl.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq rivals

As a 7-seat midsize SUV, the new Kodiaq’s most direct rivals are the Jeep Meridian and Nissan X-Trail. However, for its price, it will also see competition from the likes of the newly launched Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, Citroen C5 Aircross and Hyundai Tucson 5-seat SUVs.
