Tata Altroz gets more features, two new trims launched
June 8, 2024
In addition to launching the Altroz Racer, Tata Motors has updated the Altroz hatchback’s line-up by introducing two new higher-spec trims—XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX. The company has also added more features to the top-spec Altroz XZ+ OS trim.
- Altroz XZ LUX, XZ+S LUX priced from Rs 9 lakh and Rs 9.65 lakh onwards, respectively
- Altroz XZ+ OS now costs about Rs 34,000 more, gets more equipment
2024 Tata Altroz range: what’s new?
Priced at Rs 9 lakh and above, the new Altroz XZ LUX trim has a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen (with a new operating system), a 360-degree camera, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For Rs 65,000 extra, the Altroz XZ+S LUX (Rs 9.65 lakh) adds four more airbags.
The range-topping XZ+ OS trim was earlier priced from Rs 9.65 lakh onwards, but with the added features—including Tata’s in-car connectivity technology and an air purifier—it now costs Rs 34,000 more, starting at Rs 9.99 lakh.
Do note that all these prices are for the petrol-manual variants. The two new trims are available in petrol-manual, petrol-DCT, CNG-MT, and diesel-MT configurations.
The Altroz XZ+ OS is still offered in petrol form only. It no longer has leatherette seats, which are now exclusive to the Altroz Racer. Other features such as electric sunroof, cruise control, rear AC vents, auto climate control, 90-degree opening doors, auto headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers stay.
2024 Tata Altroz: powertrains
The Altroz will continue to be offered with its 88hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 90hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine options. The petrol engine also gets an optional CNG kit. With the introduction of the Altroz Racer, the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that was available with the i-Turbo version has now been discontinued. Transmission options on the standard Altroz include a standard 5-speed MT and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for the petrol engine.
2024 Tata Altroz: rivals
The Altroz continues to rival the likes of the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, and Toyota Glanza. Meanwhile, the new Altroz Racer competes with the i20 N Line and Fronx Turbo.
