Toyota Taisor vs Fronx, Brezza, Sonet, Nexon: Fuel efficiency compared
April 6, 2024
Toyota marked its re-entry into the ever-growing compact SUV segment with the Taisor – a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx launched in India at Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom). The Taisor shares all its powertrains with the Fronx, and therefore returns a similar fuel efficiency.

The 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol variants are claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 21.7-22.8kpl, depending on the gearbox, while the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol variants are said to return 21.5kpl and 20kpl for the manual and automatic versions, respectively. Let’s take a look at how the Toyota Taisor’s fuel efficiency figures stack up against all its rivals.

The Taisor and Fronx also offer a CNG option with the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, which is claimed to return 28.51km/kg. The Brezza is currently the only other compact SUV in India to offer a CNG option, which offers a fuel efficiency of 25.51km/kg. Considering that the Brezza is offered with a bigger 1.5-litre petrol engine, its fuel efficiency is slightly lower than the Taisor and Fronx.
The Mahindra XUV300 petrol is the least fuel efficient SUV in this comparison with a claimed 17-18.2kpl. That said, Mahindra is all set to debut the XUV300 facelift in India on April 29 with some major updates.
