New Kia EV2 revealed as brand’s smallest EV yet
January 10, 2026

Kia has revealed the all-new EV2 electric crossover at the ongoing Brussels Motor Show. The EV2 is Kia’s sixth and the smallest model yet in the line-up of born-electric vehicles built on the E-GMP platform. Globally, the EV2 is positioned to rival the likes of the Renault 4 and the upcoming Volkswagen ID Cross.
- EV2 is Kia’s smallest born-electric vehicle yet
- Gets two battery pack options with up to 448km WLTP range
- Interior is similar to that of the Syros available in India
Kia EV2 exterior design
Taking clear styling cues from larger siblings in Kia’s line-up of electric SUVs, the EV2 has a revised version of the brand’s ‘tiger face’ front end and a boxy shape designed to maximise interior room. The vertically stacked split headlamps look unique, there’s generous use of body cladding all around the vehicle and the tail-lamps, which look like extensions of the body cladding over the rear wheel arches and are reminiscent of the Syros available in India.

Overall, the design is clean and understated, devoid of sharp character lines and edgy surfaces. There’s also a GT Line trim with sportier-looking front and rear bumpers. Wheel sizes range from 16 to 18 inches for the regular variants, while the GT Line variants get 19-inch rims. In terms of dimensions, the EV2 is 4,060mm long and 1,800mm wide, with a 2,565mm wheelbase.
Kia EV2 interior and features
The interior, too, is very similar to that of the Syros available in India. It gets Kia’s digital dashboard centred around three screens: a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate control display and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. The EV2 uses a new ‘lite’ version of Kia’s infotainment system, which, Kia says, helps lower the cost. It remains capable of over-the-air (OTA) updates.

There are also plenty of physical controls on the steering wheel and on the centre console for ease of operation. Interestingly, the EV2 also gets a 4-seat layout apart from the regular 5-seat configuration. The 4-seater features two independent reclining seats that can slide forward, creating up to 403 litres of boot space. Meanwhile, the 5-seater offers 362 litres of capacity. Both versions have a 15-litre frunk.
Some of the features offered with the EV2 include a digital key 2.0, a Harman Kardon sound system, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging capabilities and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Kia EV2 battery and range details
The EV2 will be available with a choice of two battery sizes. The first is a 42.2kWh LFP battery for a range of 317km. Long Range versions – offering up to 448km from a 61.0kWh NMC pack – will enter production in June. Standard Range variants will be equipped with a 147hp front-mounted motor, while Long Range models are set to use a smaller 136hp motor.

As for charging, the EV2 uses a 400V system. Kia has yet to reveal official maximum charging speeds but says a 10-80 percent top-up with a DC fast charger will take 30 minutes for both batteries. The EV2 will be offered with an 11kW charger or a 22kW AC one.
