Tata Safari or Mahindra XUV700: which three-row diesel SUV is better?

I am confused between the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700. I like the Safari, but its sales are less than the XUV700 or any other car in the segment. Should I go in for the Mahindra?

Autocar India says: In our comparison tests, the XUV700 has always come out ahead of the Safari mainly because Mahindra’s diesel is far superior to the Fiat-sourced diesel on the Safari. The Safari has the edge when it comes to ride and handling and third-row space, but that’s not enough to tip the scales in its favour. Hence, it’s the XUV700 we would recommend.
