Ola Electric is set to launch its first electric motorcycle in the first half of the financial year 2026. With a portfolio of four electric bikes in development, the company, which dominates the electric two-wheeler space with over 30 percent market share, aims to eventually enter the mass-market motorcycle segment. Last year, Ola showcased four concept e-bikes: Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster, and Cruiser.

  1. New Ola e-bikes to rival Revolt and Ultravioletteā€™s products
  2. Hero to launch e-motorcycles in 2025-26
  3. Ola has a 30 percent market share in the electric two-wheeler space

ā€œWe expect to begin delivery of the motorcycles in the first half of fiscal 2026,ā€ the company said in the draft papers it has filed for its initial public offering. ā€œWe plan to further expand our product portfolio to also cover mass-market motorcycles, targeting a wider range of consumers across various product types and price points in the long term,ā€ it added. Ola Electric has also recently patented three electric motorcycle designs and a removable electric battery.

While electric vehicle adoption in the scooter segment is gaining momentum with several startups and traditional manufacturers introducing their models, the electric motorcycle segment remains nascent, with only a few new-age firms, such as Revolt and Ultraviolette, currently offering products.

“Limited options have restricted EV penetration in the motorcycle segment to less than 1 percent, with a significant presence of EVs in over Rs 1 lakh price segment. With the strengthening of supply in popular price segments through R&D and technological advancements, penetration in the electric motorcycle segment is also expected to see an uptick,ā€ Ola Electric said.

Even Indiaā€™s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp,Ā is planning to launch a portfolio of electric motorcycles in 2025ā€“26, our sister publication, Autocar Professional, had reported. This line-up will include six models in the Vida range and four models in partnership with Zero Motors. The first model is expected to be a premium one, priced from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

Ola currently competes with Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor, and Ather and offers three electric scooters: S1 Pro, S1 Air, and S1 X. The S1 X is available in three variants featuring battery capacities from 2kWh to 4kWh.
