Honda pulls the plug on the CB400 Super Four range
May 28, 2022
– Honda CB400 Super Four and the CB 400 Super Bol d’Or Final Editions launched
– Both models are to be discontinued shortly
– Both bikes are powered by a 399cc inline four-cylinder engine
Honda Japan has launched the final editions of its CB400 twins as its home country begins the adoption of Reiwa 2 (similar to Euro-5) emissions regulations. Both the models could have been updated with a cleaner and greener motor but Honda has different plans.
For the Final Editions of the CB400 Super Four and the CB 400 Super Bol d’Or, Honda has launched both bikes in three desirable paint schemes: Candy Chromosphere Red, Atmosphere Blue Metallic, and Darkness Black Metallic.
The CB400 twins draw power from a 399cc inline-four motor with the output rated at 55bhp and 39Nm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The overall build of both the CB 400(s) is quite simple and clean. The CB400 Super Four gets a round LED headlight with bulb indicators and the CB 400 Super Bol d’Or dons an old-school boxy fascia. The side profile for both bikes has an-early 90s reminiscence.
Braking hardware on the two comprises dual front discs and a single rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Meanwhile, the suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. The CBs ride on a pair of 17-inch alloys.
In Japan, Honda has priced the CB 400 Super Four from JPY 8,84,400 (approximately Rs 5.39 lakh sans taxes) while the Super Bol d’Or retails at JPY 10,40,600 (approximately Rs 6.35 lakh). As of now, Honda India only has the CB300R in the said segment for the country.
